Cultural Development CoordinatorPermanentSalary from $101,510.82 up to $121,368.12 per annum plus superannuation. Learn more about us here.We're looking for an experienced and passionate Cultural Development Coordinator to provide leadership and strategic direction to our Cultural Development Team.Working with diverse communities and stakeholders, this is an exciting opportunity for someone with proven experience working in the arts and cultural industries to contribute to the creative life of the City.In this role you will combine your exceptional communication, strategic project management, leadership, and interpersonal skills to deliver quality programs across the creative arts portfolio, including community Cultural Development, arts and public art projects.Some weekend and evening work will be required based on the program.Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid Working With Children Check. Applicants are required to provide a Working With Children Check application/clearance reference number with their application.About the roleIn this role you would be required to:Lead a team of Cultural Development, Public Art, Administrative and Project staffDevelop and deliver high-quality Creative Arts, Cultural Development and Public Art programsProvide strategic and operational advice in the areas of Creative Arts, Cultural Programs and Public ArtUse your high-level project and financial management skills to deliver projects on time and to budgetUse your highly developed communication and leadership skills to enhance the performance of the Cultural Development Team and achieve positive outcomes for the local communityDevelop effective and productive working relationships with diverse stakeholders, including the Community, all levels of Council management and special interest arts and culture groups and committees.What you will be doing:Leading the Cultural Development Team to implement strategies and actions identified in 'Creative Wollongong', Council's Cultural Plan and Council's Public Art Strategy and Policy which include:Developing a program of arts and cultural programs for and with the community, including talks, performance opportunities and partnership programsDelivering the Public Art creative and maintenance programManaging Small Cultural GrantsManaging the Lower Town Hall Creative Wollongong Artist Studio'sDelivering an annual Community Arts FestivalWorking with internal and community stakeholders and partnersManaging projects and budgetsDeveloping and delivering written and visual material, including Council reports, presentations and strategiesImplementing Council policies and proceduresUndertaking WHS responsibilitiesAbout you You are a creative thinker, with the ability to work from strategy to on the-ground deliveryYou have a passion for the arts and cultural industries and skills in program development and strategic service deliveryYou are a people person, who enjoys leading individuals and teams to deliver positive outcomes for the communityYou have high-level communication and relationship-building skills allowing you to liaise and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders.
