The Unit
The Student Service Unit is comprised of the Student Service, and Current Student Communications teams who work in partnership to provide proactive engagement with students early in their university studies and is an ongoing first point of contact for UOW students and the university community. The team is committed to a student first mindset, with a key focus on continuous improvement and collaborative working across the institution.

As a Current Student Communication Specialist, you will lead, mentor and manage staff in a way that is conducive to a respectful, trusting and collaborative student-centred work environment. Encouraging and motivating staff to deliver innovative, effective and efficient practices while building an inclusive and supportive team who are not afraid to share ideas or ask for help.
Position Description
About you
You have a great eye for detail and will use it to measure communication performance and gather insights into ways to improve how we work and how we can shape future communications. You will develop and deliver engaging, student-centred content across multiple channels including UOW website, MyUOW App, email, Student Online System (SOLS) and social media, and your problem-solving mind will focus on students receiving the right information at the right time, which is critical to the student experience at UOW.
You will have exception stakeholder management skills and be adept at working in collaboration to deliver creative and fresh campaigns that resonate with the target audience. Your high level of organisation will be evident and admired as you deliver well executed communications and campaigns in a busy environment with competing demands.
Your degree in communications, marketing or a related field will assist in managing key relationships at UOW and will be a contributing factor in developing a whole of institution approach to Current Student Communications.
