The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Customer Manager to join our Energy Solutions team in Sydney CBD office on a Permanent Full Time basis.
As a seasoned Customer Manager, you will bring deep commitment to a customer-centric business philosophy, proven success in championing customer partnerships, and a track record of cultivating a customer-focused culture within teams and throughout the organisation to this role.
Reporting to the General Manager Customer & Commercial, and looking after the team of 2, you will be supporting the development of new business and enhancing the retention of existing customers by understanding, anticipating, communicating and managing customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and develop APA's account management approach across its customer-facing businesses, support the integration of new customers, positioning APA as the partner of choice for new projects and developments
- Advise on the development and maintenance of a business-wide culture of customer centricity, including identification and communication of focus areas and case studies to support a culture program
- Manage and deliver customer feedback mechanisms, provide overarching direction and framework for APA's customer engagement activities, as well as periodic reporting to APA Board
- Manage and support the platforms (including digital) that improve APA's understanding of the customer, raise awareness across APA of the needs and voice of the customer, provide input to relevant policy processes and engagement with Government on customer-related issues
- Analyse existing customer data to identify contribution to revenue and profitability, and to understand potential value-enhancing opportunities, provide support and advice to internal stakeholders on trends, issues and market opportunities
- Significant knowledge and experience managing a broad range of customer and analytics activities in pursuit of growth and profitability
- Successful track record in managing and leading a team/teams of professionals within a mid to large organisation, including management of a functional budget
- Tertiary qualification desirable

The Customer & Commercial team are the energy infrastructure contracting, customer and market specialists at APA. We are a national team, with members in 4 APA office locations and supporting assets in every Australian state and the Northern Territory. Our team is responsible for working with APA's current and prospective customers to provide solutions for their evolving service needs.
