Reporting to the Director, IT Operations, the Cyber Security Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Cyber Security team and be responsible for overseeing the implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of mitigation strategies to enhance the organisation’s cyber resilience and protect against evolving cyber threats.

- Develop, implement and maintain Cyber Security policies, procedures and standards and keep abreast of emerging threats and trends.
- Lead a team of security specialists to ensure the effective operation of security controls and strategies ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify and address security risks and gaps. This includes maintaining an IT risk register and collaborating with appropriate teams to address vulnerabilities across DHA’s technology landscape.
- Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to potential security incidents in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with other business units to raise cyber awareness and integrate security best practices into business processes including user awareness training.
- Facilitate DHA’s annual incident response program, penetration testing, ACSC surveys and PSPF audits.
- Supervise the workload of the team and monitor the individual performance of team members. Provide coaching and mentoring support, ensuring individual team members develop appropriate knowledge and skills.
Eligibility
The remuneration package includes a base salary and funded 15.4% superannuation. Employment with DHA is conditional on successful applicants demonstrating that they are an Australian citizen, meeting the required medical standards, and obtaining and maintaining a security clearance at the required level.

In recognition of the technical expertise required for this position, DHA will consider an Individual Flexibility Arrangement for the successful candidate which reflects the most appropriate overall remuneration package.
