About the role:
As a Data Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in driving change through the data safety program of work and supporting the implementation of the Data Governance Framework. You'll conduct thorough data analysis, define retention requirements, and lead initiatives to enhance data literacy across the organisation. Collaborating with stakeholders, you'll provide actionable insights, facilitate cross-functional meetings, and contribute to the development of reports and dashboards. Your expertise will be key in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct data analysis and lineage to facilitate the implementation of Retention & Disposition and Metadata Tooling.
- Spearhead initiatives to enhance data governance practices, including data classification, lineage analysis, and metadata management, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory mandates.
- Define default retention requirements for records, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Lead data analysis activities to support various divisions within the organisation.
- Maintain awareness of data classification techniques and legislative requirements.
- Perform statistical analysis to support data governance initiatives and business requirements.
- Design and execute structured approaches to data analysis, shaping sequencing and execution strategies.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and gather SME input to drive data-driven recommendations.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Analysis with a focus on Data Governance projects.
- Experience within insurance or the financial services industry
- Familiarity with records management & risk management principles and content management solutions.
- Knowledge of Australian and NZ record-keeping obligations and privacy regulations.
- Basic understanding of data architecture, lineage, and IT infrastructure.
- Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Data Science, or related fields.
- Certifications in Data Governance, Information Management, Business Analysis, or BPMN are advantageous.
