About the role
We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst at the APS6 level to join our Commonwealth government client based in Canberra CBD. The successful candidate will join a team supporting a major government initiative in the agricultural and land management space.
An initial 6-month labour-hire contract is on offer, with prospects of extension.
Please note: only Australian citizens with the ability to obtain/maintain a Baseline security clearance can be considered for this role.
Duties:
- Develop a good understanding of relevant agricultural policies and programs
- Manage several datasets and refine the data management strategy for the Branch/Division
- Undertake high-quality data analysis using tools i.e. Databricks, Power BI, Power BI workspace and apps
- Develop data visualisations in Power BI
- Undertake independent technical exploration
Requisite skills/experience:
- Experience in data management/analysis using relevant tools
- Experience with using code (R, SQL, Python, etc.) to analyse data, or demonstrated ability to upskill
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively to respond to changing demands
- Highly developed IT skills, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- An understanding of farm and drought resilience (desirable)
