About the role
Because of their immense growth in their Data Engineering portfolio, an exciting opportunity has come up in one of their offices in Sydney. You will be joining their elite engineering team and playing a key role in driving continuous improvement in data engineering practices and technology, sharing responsibility towards improving quality and supporting production services to maintain and continue to build trusted solutions for the business.
Skill Sets
You need to have the following skill sets to excel in this role:

• Strong knowledge of Spark (preferably using Python)
• The ability to design big data solutions from scratch
• Strong knowledge of big data querying tools such as Presto or Impala
• Strong knowledge of AWS Redshift.
• Experience with AWS including any or all of EC2, S3, IAM, EKS and RDS
• Comfortable with changing priorities and ambiguous requirements
• Good understanding of Data Warehousing/ETL concepts
• Experience with CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with technical evaluation of requirements from users, product owners, and stakeholders
• End-to-end ownership for solution design, developing, deploying and supporting the big data solutions.
• Working as part of a team managing and supporting our existing and new platforms, with a focus on CI/CD pipelines, release pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience in collaborating and communicating with key business SME's, product owners, business analysts and other key stakeholders to define and create solutions
