Wanted: An inquisitive individual that loves working with and exploring how ‘location’ enables data, who is not afraid of engaging with wide range of stakeholders, leading discussions, strategies and plans to maximise the value of both spatial and non-spatial data supporting government initiatives.
About the role
Spatial WA is a five-year program to deliver a whole of government Advanced Spatial Digital Twin for the State. It will enable agencies to access, share and use spatial and non-spatial data with advanced capabilities for visualisation, analytics, predictive modelling, and digital workflows, to improve collaboration and decision making across government. The Program is complex and will be delivered in a dynamic and fast paced project environment, working with key agencies across the sector to deliver the outcomes needed for the State. The role will require you to consult across multiple agencies, developing standards, procedures, and best practice guidelines to support the management of Spatial WA data. The role is not all governance as it will also work at a technical level to explore, prototype and support the delivery of outcomes that leverage the Spatial WA technology, maximising the value of data. Using excellent communication and engagement skills you will consult, understand and influence how spatial and related non-spatial data is managed and utilised to drive standardisation of Data Governance practices across Government.

Role Requirements
To be successful in this role, please demonstrate:
- Experience in geospatial data modelling, data architecture, and open data standards.
- Delivery of geospatial solutions using commercial and open-source software in a cloud processing environment.
- Your ability to think strategically to shape a vision to lead lasting change.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and how you use these to provide expert advice, influence and foster effective ongoing relationships.
- Significant stakeholder engagement skills and experience working with stakeholder to implement data management practices.
Although not essential, a tertiary qualification in spatial or data sciences or another relevant discipline is highly desirable.
