Data Platform Manager to join our Data Governance & Analytics team within Digital & Technology. As
Data Platform Manager, you will be critical to the strategic direction, scaling, design, development, and operation of our Enterprise
Data Platform, including the Azure Data Environment and Power BI / Fabric Capacity. You will spend your days leading a team of technical engineers and specialists to enhance the capability and performance of the
Data Platform, including pipelines and curated dataflows/datasets, key to delivering data products for internal and external stakeholders.The team’s portfolio has grown with an enterprise-wide analytics program and the team supports data products delivering financial optimization, performance and compliance insights. Working across the organisation and with other key transformation projects, the team are moving into the next phase of data expansion, optimisation and exploration of advanced analytics leveraging the
Data Platform, whilst looking to a future-state architecture within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.The
Data Platform Manager is responsible for:
- Supporting roadmap for a world class enterprise data and analytics platform
- Design data architecture and engineering to ensure that data needs are met with maximum efficiency
- Lead and manage data operations and team activities including data extraction, development, enhancement and support of data products and assets
- Drives and maintains Data DevOps and Agile framework practices including development and support standards, system documentation, configuration management and training resources
- Actively contribute in the review, selection and implementation of Data technologies in conjunction with the team to provide appropriate subject matter expertise for stakeholders and to ensure alignment with SVHA’s Digital & Technology and Data Governance & Analytics strategic direction
- Build and support analytics capability in the organisation to ensure optimal data asset returns
The successful candidate will have a strategic, service standards and product management mindset, with experience in managing a team in building data pipelines, developing Power BI datasets and performance metrics from complex and disparate transactional systems. You will be proficient in building high-performing teams, managing internal client relationships and prioritizing work requests. Technical experience and understanding of advanced analytics enablement, data warehousing and Power BI architecture is essential.Additionally, you must demonstrate:
- Proven technical leadership and effective team management include leading, establishing standards, strategy, processes and procedures, remaining hands on throughout
- Experience managing team developing data assets from complex disparate source systems
- Experience managing delivery by a combined internal and external team members
- Experience in a product management and managing development projects
- Excellent knowledge of how data can be used to support effective decision-making
- Excellent business acumen with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Technical knowledge of Azure Data technologies (ADF, Power BI, Power Automate), Relational Database, Data Warehouse and related technologies
- Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Health Informatics or related business area
