The Role
This new position has been established to provide leadership and management of the Cost Analysis and Finance team in the Maritime Domain Support Branch. An APS lead is required to direct, prioritise and manage the deliverables of the costing team.
Major duties of the role include:
- Lead a team of cost analysts to engage closely with Navy Capability project or program sponsors to understand their costing requirements and proposed approach to delivery.
- Support the analyses and assurance of cost models and whole-of-life costs for projects or programs for committee considerations and Government approvals, providing advice on affordability and cost risks.
- Coordinate the Navy Capability cost input for the Bi-Annual Integrated Investment Program (IIP) Update process.
- Brief senior executives within the Maritime Domain Support Branch and Navy Capability Division in preparation for key committees and meetings, and engage with counterparts in Central agencies on Defence capability proposals.
- Support the Director to interpret cost estimation policy, processes, methods, tools and training and take the initiative to provide feedback and recommendations.
The Cost Analysis and Finance team is a small team of subject matter experts. As the main support for the Director - Business Enabling Support, you will provide advice on decisions across a range of cost analysis and assurance activities, with a particular focus on lifecycle costing, budget, reporting and stakeholder engagement. You will be working with talented colleagues, who will provide you with guidance and support to ensure that you have everything you need to succeed.
