This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning, policy development, and continuous improvement of our Student Services Directorate.Full-time and continuing roleBased at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campusAttractive remuneration package of up to $165,931 per annum including superannuation and leave loading.WHAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE IN THE ROLEAs the Deputy Director, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the success of our students by leading the development and delivery of best practice student-facing transition, engagement, communication, retention, and administration services. Your expertise is crucial in contributing to strategic and operational planning for the Directorate, ensuring financial sustainability, compliance, and innovation outcomes. Risk mitigation is a key aspect of this role, as you will be tasked with providing high-quality strategic, policy, and operational advice to senior management regarding all student-related administrative services. Your ability to establish and maintain a strategic stakeholder network will support the delivery of high-quality student administrative services, fostering seamless operations across the University. Furthermore, your leadership will be instrumental in the successful delivery of special projects and change management initiatives. This involves developing high-quality project plans, communication strategies, and overseeing budgets to drive innovation and operational enhancement. Measurable service excellence outcomes are paramount, and you will achieve this by leading, managing, and developing a positive team culture. Promoting teamwork, quality, innovation, employee wellbeing, and engagement will be central to your approach.WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLEWith postgraduate qualifications in a related field and extensive relevant experience, you bring proven expertise in managing human, financial, and physical resources, and experience with navigating contemporary issues shaping the higher education sector. Your advanced organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, coupled with a demonstrated ability to make decisions on complex and sensitive issues, are key attributes. Experience in implementing innovative and creative solutions to engage with staff, students, and the community is crucial, as is possessing high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
