Appointments can be made from the pool at any time for commencements within the 2024 school year, up to the end of Term 2, 2025.Marangaroo PS is a welcoming school that embraces diversity and individualised learning. Situated on spacious grounds we are fortunate to have ample play spaces, a full-length oval and purpose-built early childhood facilities.The Deputy Principal will oversee development and review of whole school Operational Plans for all curriculum areas, and will have input into the school Assessment Schedule. A clear capacity to lead the analysis of data effectively, and experience in implementing whole school programs with fidelity will be highly regarded. With a clear focus on improving student outcomes, successful applicants will demonstrate an ability to lead change management and a focus on continuous whole school improvement.Whilst there is a strong focus on academic achievement, Marangaroo PS also seeks to support students’ non-academic needs. Education is truly about the 'whole child'- meeting their emotional, physical and behavioural needs is essential if students are to be successful learners and happy children. A current focus for the school is on developing strong relationships with the community and on providing consistent, evidence-based instruction in classrooms. Deputy Principals at Marangaroo PS are expected to show strong leadership in this area. To complement this, we are currently beginning our journey towards implementing a behaviour management approach utilising PBS; experience in this area will be highly regarded but is not essential.Marangaroo PS proudly hosts a Specialist Learning Program for students with Autism. As such, we have a high number of students with Autism across the school. Working alongside the Program Co-ordinator to promote the inclusive values of the program, the Deputy Principal will ensure that clear and cohesive student services processes are in place to support both students within the SLP-ASD, and those with other learning needs. Successful applicants will be responsible for case management of students and liaison with the School Psychologist and other external providers. Critical to your success in this area will be an authentic ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.Applicants should also note that our current Business Plan has been extended until the end of Semester 1, 2024 and is due to be updated pending the recommendations of the Public School Review.To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
- Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
- High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
- Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
- Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.
- A three (3-4) page statement addressing the Work Related Requirements, in context of the role and business needs of the branch
- A CV of up to three (3) pages outlining your employment history and professional learning summary relevant to this position
