Waterproofing Integrity provides design compliance consultation and onsite quality control services for construction waterproofing in residential, commercial and infrastructure projects. We combine academic knowledge and industry experience within the building and engineering fields to provide onsite and offsite consulting services that meet and exceed the expectations of our clients.
We are a growing and ambitious team servicing an emerging sector of the industry in the wake of significant defects and subsequent legislative changes across the industry. We work with leading architects, engineers and builders to ensure project waterproofing elements achieve compliance and quality requirements.
Design Coordinator
Assisting the Design Manager, you will apply and develop your knowledge and experience in architecture/design, engineering and/or construction to provide our clients with advice, assessments and reports on a range of waterproofing related design, compliance, material and construction scenarios. Communicating with architects/designers, developers, builders and subcontractors to provide a combination of on-site and off-site services you will ensure that waterproofing works are designed and executed in compliance with NCC, Australian Standards and best practice requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, evaluate and develop reports for design and material selection compliance
- Attend, contribute to and occasionally run workshop meetings for construction projects during both design and construction phases
- Assist in preparation of performance solutions and other compliance documentation as required
- Prepare, revise and markup designs and section details in AutoCAD or Revu
- Provide verbal and written advice on waterproofing compliance with Australian Standards, National Construction Code and best practice guides.
- Conduct analysis, as proposed by the performance-based design brief.
- Regular interaction with clients primary based in Sydney and occasionally from regional areas and interstate.
- Work as part of a professional team committed to excellence and the sharing of information, but work in a self directed/self managed manner;
- Ensure accuracy in file management, billing and record keeping.
- Assist Design Manager as necessary on other tasks
Qualifications & Experience (Desired but on the job training is provided)
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Building Design, Engineering, Construction Management, Drafting or similar.
- Knowledge of Australian Standards, building codes and guides relevant in building structures, or willingness to learn
- Preferably 2+ years of construction industry experience, relative to waterproofing and interfacing building elements or similar but not essential
- Experience and confident use of AutoCAD or Revu or similar software to prepare architectural drawings
- Skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel and comfortable using organisation management software. While you will have the support of other staff during routine work, you will be expected to work independently as needed to produce various documents.
- Construction OHS Certificate (White Card), or commitment to attain one

The role would suit a full-time graduate or experienced professional, looking for a challenge and growth pathway in a specialised field. You will join a team that have recently started in the same role in the last six months and can share their knowledge and growth, many of which not having exposure to waterproofing previously.
