About the role:
We currently have a vacancy for a Design Draftsperson who will develop to be the leader of all drafting material relevant to the $63 million Bell Bay Upgrade project and will guide and provide technical support to the overall site. The successful candidate will be will also be measured in terms of its ability to produce a capital application based on world best practice in sawmilling.
This permanent, full time position reports directly to the Bell Bay Upgrade Project Manager and will be based at our Bell Bay sawmill in Tasmania (approx. 40 minutes from Launceston). With our business continually investing and growing, this is a perfect opportunity to combine your strong technical mindset with a leader in the sawmilling industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the Design and drafting components of the Capital Project achieve justification goals, on budget and on schedule.
- Manage Variations within Budget and contingency, using variations process through the Build Projects Manager
- Management for all Design and drafting components of the capital project
- Working as part of team that strives for excellence
- Ensuring that appropriate daily schedule controls are in place to enable the Design and drafting process to be clearly understood
Qualifications and Qualities you will bring to Timberlink:
- Drafting or Engineering Qualification
- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers as required
