The role
South East Water is seeking a Land Development Officer to join the team on a permanent basis. This role will assess South East Water’s servicing and financial requirements for the connection of new developments and meet the growth demands in South East Waters licence area. The role requires working collaboratively through a contractual agreement with land developers, engineering consultants, civil contractors, councils and other authorities to deliver, in accordance with our strategic planning the installation of assets.
Key accountabilities will be;
- Preparing and authorising statutory referrals, development agreements and providing servicing advice for development proposals
- Evaluation of construction tenders and variations
- Assess alternative servicing options for new developments
- Assess the performance of accredited consultants to inform SE Water’s Performance and Accreditation regime..
- Conduct meetings with developers, engineering consultants, surveyors, builders, local councils and other authorities
- Collaborate with internal teams on matters as required
- Assist in the identification and development of existing Land Development processes to enable procedures.
- Understanding of the land or property development industry
- Knowledge of hydraulic principles, and the design or construction of water and sewerage facilities
- Knowledge of the Water Act, Planning and Environment Act, Subdivision Act, ISO 9001 Standards and Standards
- Sound analytical and computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and other work related databases
- High level of negotiation skills to resolve complex servicing and financial requirements
- Able to understand technical matters and learn new technical skills

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to determine and manage multiple tasks based on assessment of priorities and stakeholder needs

- Remuneration of between $98,605 - $111,571 plus superannuation, depending on level of experience.
