About us

The Fashion Institute offers bespoke undergraduate courses in Fashion Business, Fashion Communications and Media and Digital and Social Media Marketing for domestic students. We equip students with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed for success in the fashion industry. We are at the forefront of providing current and relevant education. Qualifications & experience

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing social media content for a brand.
  • University Degree in Marketing is desirable.
  • A process improvement mindset, with the ability to bring forward new ideas. Positive "can do" attitude with proven effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • You have the ability to maintain focus and relationships under pressure and to work effectively in a collaborative team setting.
  • You’ll have great enthusiasm, integrity and a growth mind-set, and you’re able to shift, adapt and learn fast.
  • Above all, you have an unwavering and positive attitude, drive and commitment to quality outcomes.
  • Proven experience and strong skills in creating written, graphic and video content to be used online.
  • Experience working in a fast paced and quick turnaround content creation environment is ESSENTIAL.
  • Experience using the Adobe Suite to create, manage and edit material. Willingness to be proactive and assist across other areas of the operations team.
  • General enthusiasm for team collaboration and a sense of humour.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage The Fashion Institute [TFI] social media campaigns and to lead external communications, messaging and tone of voice for the Institute and its related brands.
  • Be on-site at the delivery campuses, engage with students and tutors, take photos to create content for social media. Extraordinary events may require more visits to the campuses. Proactively hunt out content opportunities
  • Update the 'student success stories' by profiling Alumni and current students.
  • Monitor social channels and industry publications for trending news and ideas. Research blogging topics; share any industry news on social media. The purpose is to keep social media content interesting and relevant.
  • Attend related Institute events such as Australian Fashion Week, Guest Speaker Events, Industry Panels, Holiday Workshops, Open Day, Orientation Weeks, TFI Parties, and graduation ceremonies, take photos and post on social media as soon as possible after the event.
  • Create and manage regular reporting on digital marketing KPls against company goals as set. Improve response rate and reply to any online messages or comments within one day.
  • Create and edit video content for social media and website when necessary. Create, publish and manage social media and website content including social media and website content calendars and inbox responses.
  • Schedule social media posts and news articles, social media and website reporting, SEO (non-technical).
  • Content creation Includes: video, animated tiles and banners as well as written content e.g. student, alumni, staff success stories, media updates, testimonial interviews etc.
  • Producing marketing copy to advertise our products, and additional tasks as required.
