Digital Design System Ux Designer

The Digital Distribution team is tasked with the design, delivery and optimisation of Suncorp's Digital assets across a network of brands in the insurance and financial space.
Being an integral part the ecommerce team, the UX Designer is tasked to continually refine and enhance existing UI components, whilst also considering future requirements by collaborating with developers and product teams. The mission is to design and enhance components that can be leverage across all our brands and digital environments, as well as leading the design direction for internal systems.
The brand experiences we have today have a consistent design language, which although is adapting as per changing customer needs and behaviours is also cognisant of established frameworks and platform capabilities that our environments are built around.
Our design foundation established by UX leads will continue to guide the overall experience, from an art direction/business perspective. What we require is for UX Designers to maintain and improve upon these experiences to keep deliverables on point.
You'll be an active thought leader and collaborator for the Design System function in the Styleguide Team which sits within a group of digital specialists known as Digital Experience. The UX Designer role is to participate and contribute to design experiences and oversee these through to delivery and business ownership.
More specifically, you will:

• Drive and deliver best practice Component Design, Design Systems and Styleguides
• Collaborate and contribute with Stakeholders and Development teams across a range design related activity & projects
• Provide advice on the range of UX design decisions and associated benefits.
• Build strong relationships with wider digital group.
• Knowledge & interest of Design Systems, design operations, interface design and accessibility
• Confident in liaising with stakeholders and acting on critique to improve Customer, Designer and Developer Experience to achieve business outcomes. Team player with a solution-oriented approach and a passion for design standards

About You:

• Tertiary qualification in relevant design field. (desired)
• 3-6 years of UX & design or closely related field
• Experience with Design Systems
• Portfolio or ability to demonstrate work on previous design projects.

Key Capabilities:
Mandatory Skills

• Proficient in use of Figma
• Strong and clear communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in component design and Design Systems
• Good understanding of front-end development practices
• Responsive design, mobile first web design, web applications
• Good understanding of UI & UX accessibility best practices

Desired Skills

• Multi-brand/theme UI systems
• Icon design and icon systems
• UX design and research methodologies
• Behaviour and user interaction with web UI patterns, standards and conventions
• Experience with Agile project management tools like Jira
