The Project aims to deliver a shared Alfred/Monash Pathology service. It will consider the benefits and risks of this venture considering previous explorative work carried by the two health services as well as information gathered throughout the project development. The project will run in conjunction with broader pathology system reform being undertaken by the Department of Health. Underpinning this project is the establishment of an operating model for the shared service, including operational and clinical frameworks, quality and safety systems, corporate support services and a shared laboratory information system and various technology components.The Digital Program Manager will be an Alfred Health appointment on behalf of the Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Project. This position will report to the Director Digital Pathology and be part of the project leadership team. While this role is specifically to work on the LIS implementation project, this role will also work in close collaboration with the broader Alfred/Monash Shared Pathology Project team.
The RoleThe Digital Program Manager is responsible for the hands-on management of a program of work to deliver the Shared LIS. The role requires a program management professional that has extensive experience in the delivery of end-to-end programs, projects and related services including project health checks & audit, project performance improvement, and at-risk project management.
The Digital Program Manager has corporate level responsibility for providing program management, project management, and consulting to internal customers.The key responsibilities of the Digital Program Manager include:
- Manage the delivery of a program of digital projects for the Shared LIS
- Provide guidance and mentoring to project managers within the program
- Undertake consulting activities where required such as project health checks & audits, project performance improvement, and at-risk project management
- Tertiary Qualifications in Computer Science, Health Science or relevant discipline
- 10+ years of formal Senior Project/Program/Portfolio delivery experience
- 10+ years' experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments
- Recognised Project/Program Management certification
- Proven experience in managing a team of Project Managers
- Demonstrated experience in delivering large scale complex enterprise-wide projects (over $1M), both application and infrastructure based, from start to finish, ideally in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Proven experience in providing specialist application and implementation leadership for Cerner or similar clinical information systems relevant to large ICT service provision.
