This micro agency (~20 pax) has recently been established to oversee government and government-funded bodies.
The Opportunity
This agency itself and it’s data reporting are very much Greenfields in nature. You will have the unique opportunity to setting up the data and reporting capability for the agency.
You will be responsible for the design, creation, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
This means you will have the rare chance to design and build the capability right from the start. This will allow you to make this role more pro-active rather than re-active once it’s established
You will be part of the senior leadership team of the agency with 3x peer EL2s who all report into a supportive, outgoing and people focussed Band 1.
Within your team, there is an existing EL1, a vacant APS6 and the potential for an APS5 in the future.
The Role
In this role you will answer the following questions
- “What data do we need?”
- “How will we use it to identify patterns?”
You will do this by
- Developing a strategic approach to monitoring and intelligence
- Development and ongoing refinement of a data and analytics framework
- Identifying emerging and systemic issues across the sector through co-ordinated monitoring activities of the Commonwealth’s funding, regulation, and administration of the sector
- Applying critical thinking and developing innovative analytic techniques, in accordance with the maturing data environment, to enhance information collection and analysis of aged care sector information.
- Supporting and leading the data analytics functions to enable the output of intelligence reports
After reading this so far, you understand that this role requires a specialised skill set and person.
To be successful you:
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills from a 360 view. This allows you to set a strategic direction and also build confidence with your SES that you have things under control (You are likely to be an existing EL2 or equivalent)
- Are experienced in setting up a data and reporting capability and can build long term mutually beneficial relationships with external data stakeholders
- Have the personality and look forward to working in a small organisation where you know and say hello to everyone
Salary / Rate
- This role is being offered as a Director (EL2) via s26 transfer or 12 month non-ongoing with view to permanency
- $135k- $165k + 15.4% super
