Position Description
We are seeking to attract a talented candidate for a position at the Senior Executive Service (SES) Band 1 level that will contribute to ASD’s mission and have relevant skills to work across specialist and corporate development roles.
ASD is currently undergoing a significant transformation – doubling in size, expanding its presence both nationally and globally, and delivering significant new and enhanced intelligence and security capabilities for Australia. As a senior leader in ASD, you will have an important role leading this change.
The Assistant Director-General Data Technology (ADGDT) is responsible for delivering and sustaining the core Data Technology platforms to meet ASD mission data needs. You will lead the re-architecture of ASD’s data infrastructure to ensure it is resilient, redundant and sufficiently flexible to adapt quickly to new capability requirements. You will be responsible for data platforms, data distribution technologies, and data processing on cloud technologies, and experience in one or more of these areas is desirable.
In all SES Band 1 positions, you will have responsibility for leading a Branch through ASD’s current transformation, while continuing to deliver on the operational requirements of the position. You will work closely with international partners, and will manage an Australia-wide workforce.
