ABOUT THE BRANCH & SECTIONThe Future Made in Australia Office is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Australian Government’s Buy Australian Plan, an ambitious program of procurement reform being delivered across the Australian Public Service. The Office is responsible for strengthening engagement with states and territories to deliver economic, social, and environmental benefits to Australia through procurement, and engaging directly with businesses and industry sectors to help lift their capability to successfully compete for government contracts.The
Learning and Development team is responsible for:
- developing and delivering a Learning and Development Strategy for the Australian Public Service (APS) to uplift procurement and contract management capability
- develop and deliver face to face, face to screen and e-learning courses to APS officials, in collaboration with the APS Academy, and
- develop and deliver workshops for suppliers to understand and participate in government procurement.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYKey duties and responsibilities of the role are:
- Lead the team to develop and deliver training courses for Australian Public Service officials to uplift capability in procurement and contract management, and workshops for businesses to uplift capability to complete for Australian Government contracts.
- This work is part of achieving the objectives of the Buy Australian Plan.
- Work closely with other sections of the Branch, and across the department, as well as other parts of the APS, in particular the APS Academy, to develop and deliver training.
- Work collaboratively with industry partners to deliver workshops for businesses.
- Lead a small fast-paced and dynamic team of people who come from a variety of backgrounds
