Job description

The Caloundra Health Service (CHS) is the SCHHS hub for palliative care and ophthalmology and provides outpatient services for palliative care (consult liaison and Specialist Palliative Care Rural Telehealth (SPARTA) ), virtual acute service and sexual health. CHS also provides ambulatory and community-based services including a Minor Injury and Illness Clinic, renal, oral health, telehealth, diabetes, Forensic and Watch House Nurse Service and community services for residents of Caloundra and surrounds. The CHS provides access from other service providers delivering care, for example mental health.
The DON/ FM is responsible for the provision of effective nursing leadership, high level operational management and clinical expertise to ensure the planning, delivery and evaluation of high quality and cost-effective services that are consistent with the strategic and operational directions of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service. The DON/FM practices in co-operative partnership with multi-disciplinary members of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and executive members.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to identify and prioritise needs accessing both material and human resources through effective negotiation and communication to achieve cost effective consumer/person centred service delivery including Business Planning Framework (BPF) application.
* Lead a professional capable nursing workforce committed to consumer outcomes in the application of evidence-based models of care and professional practice standards to achieve current and projected service demands.
* Lead, manage and evaluate business processes to verify optimal levels of services are provided within available funds, finance framework, workforce levels maintained, and agreed targets/KPIs achieved for the area/s of responsibility.
* Actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, workplace health and safety and ethical behaviour.
Remuneration value up to $193,164 p.a., comprising salary between $169,299 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 11). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
