Job Description
Reporting to the General Manager you will be responsible for:
- Executing sales strategies for the Hotel across all market segments.
- Have a complete understanding of the Hotel sales vision; its products, services, and rate structure to fulfil business objectives.
- Actively sell all attributes of the Hotel including Conference facilities and Food and Beverage features.
- Work collaboratively with the Revenue Manager to ensure room night and revenue targets are appropriately supported.
- Work collaboratively with the Revenue Manager to ensure ongoing research and analysis of product, price, and performance metrics of the agreed competitive sets in order to drive above market performance through identification of opportunities.
- Identify new opportunities for the Hotel and across the Accor business.
- Work with the Hotel Revenue Manager and Regional Director of Sales & Marketing to achieve optimum revpar/revenue/yield results for all segments of the business unit.
- Develop a strategic plan for identifying major accounts and business opportunities.
- Review weekly forecasts and market share reports and actively participate in ensuring business levels and market share is maintained.
- Ensure the team is maximising hotel revenue through effective pricing, space management and conversion, therefore increasing revenue in the key segments that generate the highest yield.
- Ensure maximisation of revenue from Conference & Incentive segments by promoting the Hotel’s Food and Beverage outlets.
- Explore opportunities for joint ventures with domestic industry partners that produce viable sales revenue.
- Establish a high profile across the region and with key accounts.
- Act as primary point of contact for the hotel including the coordination and leadership of site inspections to assist conversion.
The iconic Playford Hotel MGallery Collection brings together an eclectic mix of iconic South Australian experiences in one space and, in a sense, a taste of all that is on offer in the ‘quality of life’ capital.
The hotel was named after Sir Thomas Playford, South Australia’s longest serving premier and is built on the site of the original News Limited building. The News was a daily tabloid Adelaide newspaper which was inherited by Rupert Murdoch in 1952, and which is now referred to as the ‘foundation stone’ of News Limited and News Corporation, one of Australia's largest media companies. Rupert Murdoch’s first board meeting for News Corporation was in fact held in the space on the first floor above the new Luma Restaurant and Bar.
The Playford was built in 1998 and recently underwent a multi-million dollar refurbishment which has been well received by Guests and Team Members alike. We are now excited to be offering a wonderful opportunity for an exceptional Reservations Manager to join our team on a Full Time basis.
