As a leader within the Shared Services Branch, you will work across pay and client services, HR systems capability development, and HR system controls and assurance, to drive, influence, design and collaborate on a range of people-related matters and the systems that support them. You will use your leadership skills and experience to create a strong professional culture, demonstrating your ability to think strategically, innovatively and by being open to new ideas. You will lead the development of systems, standardisation of processes and shared corporate services to PM&C and its Shared Service clients.The successful applicant should have demonstrated experience and capabilities in managing payroll systems and controls, risk management, problem solving and process optimisation, and be able to apply these skills to identify and implement business improvement and streamlining opportunities.A merit pool may be established and used to fill the same of similar vacancies for 18 months from the date of advertising.Our Ideal CandidateOur ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge and experience relating to the methodology, systems and procedures within the payroll field and the ability to translate this into strategy.
- Comprehensive understanding of and experience working with the APS legislative framework, key government policy and initiatives that have an impact on APS employees and Senior Executive Staff.
- Understanding of and experience in HR system governance including HR system capability and development, contract management and coordination of system changes
- Comprehensive understanding of and experience working with APS contemporary operational human resource processes and practices.
- An appreciation and understanding of the workplace planning process.
- High-level leadership and management skills and experience, including the capacity to implement change, engage and develop staff and effectively manage the work priorities of a dynamic payroll processing, systems support and helpdesk function.
- Well-developed interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders, exercise influence and embed a positive and resilient team culture.
