  • Full time, term role up to 30 June 2028
  • Based in Eveleigh with hybrid working

About the role

In this role, you will lead,develop and implement strategies and initiatives to ensure that the department’s existing and projected land holdings and Property Portfolio supports the strategic growth requirements and educational priorities of the department. You will play a key role in ensuring the ongoing and future provision of school infrastructure support’s the department’ Plan for Public Education.

About you

You will possess strong leadership and relationship management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders. You will provide strategic direction to the property team to enable optimised long-term management of the department’s land and property holdings.

Your exceptional people and project management skills will help inform organisational strategy, growth and partnerships. Your negotiation and risk management skills will allow you to oversee a range of land and property transactions including negotiation of acquisitions, divestments and various lease or licence agreements to effectively manage the department’s risk relating to property transactions.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated extensive experience at a senior level in the management of a large team in a complex organisation.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as property, real estate, business or management, , and/or equivalent knowledge and experience. 
  • Hold a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check). 
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
