Your new opportunity
In your new role you will be working closely across the Economic Strategy Division, including understanding the underlying economic drivers of revenue trends, and working closely with the Queensland Revenue Office and other areas of Treasury in providing analysis and advice on a wide range of revenue policy matters.
In this role, you will:
• Provide high-level revenue analysis and advice within a team-based environment.
• Co-ordinate and undertake forecasts and quantitative modelling of key revenue items of the Queensland government.
• Undertake monitoring of forecasts for major State Government revenue items, including state taxation streams, royalties and the State's share of GST.
• Review, analyse and provide advice on a broad range of revenue policy matters
• Draft and co-ordinate briefs and publications, including key components of State Budget documentation.
• Provide verbal briefings to senior decision makers in Treasury on developments that may influence State revenue performance.
• Prepare and give presentations for a range of stakeholders on revenue related matters.
• Draft and co-ordinate a variety of different written material, including briefing notes on revenue issues, ministerial statements and speech notes, often under tight timeframes.
• Develop strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Contribute to the Division's business planning, business process improvement and management and provide expert leadership, ensuring the Division achieves best practice with all activities.
What experience you will bring:
• Sound quantitative analysis skills
• High level verbal and written communication skills
• The ability to communicate complex concepts in clear and concise terms to a wide range of stakeholder groups
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in economics are highly regarded.
