Job Description:
We are seeking a talented Director of Workplace Design to lead, coach and manage our design team of six personnel to create innovative and distinctive designs for the office environment. As the leader of our Workplace Design team, you will play a crucial role in maximising opportunities alongside our Managing Director, Chief Growth Officer, and Construction Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the design team to create comprehensive and accurate design documentation, including assisting with concept planning.
- Across all projects moving into Early Works Agreements and Construction.
- Resource projects across the Design team and keep them accountable to deadlines.
- Work with the Project Manager on managing deadlines.
- Review and Quality Assurance check all documentation for each project as per TACTIC standards.
- Assist Senior Designer to select furniture and fittings in line with client and TACTIC budgets and timeframes.
- Acts as a coach and mentor for all design, making recommendations and suggestions to plans and designs.
- Assist Senior Designers with final sign off of design and documentation with client.
- Check and issue all documentation to relevant staff, consultants and construction and check over consultants documents.
- Maintain strong relationships with PM and site staff.
- Identify, notify and record any potential cost variations and report to PM and CA.
- Attend PCG's with Senior Designer and PM.
- Identify skill gaps in design and monitor design staff performance.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years experience in relevant field.
- Diploma or Bachelor in related field including Interior Design, Building Design or Architecture.
- Proficiency in ArchiCAD, Twinmotion, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suites will be highly regarded.
- Ability to adapt to company documentation standards.
- Proven experience as a Director of an Interiors Team or in a similar role, demonstrating a strong understanding of design processes and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Attention to detail and the ability to organise and manage design personnel.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A portfolio showcasing your ability to design and deliver projects effectively and clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar applications.
- Knowledge of design principles and best practices.
