Position Overview: Disability Support Specialist

Responsibilities:

As a Disability Support Specialist at Sirv, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of Participants with your compassionate and supportive approach. Your responsibilities will include:

• Creating a welcoming, professional, and supportive care experience.
• Providing personal care assistance with daily living tasks.
• Offering mobility assistance in alignment with resident care plans.
• Conducting PEG feeding and management for Participants.
• Implementing dysphagia management techniques.
• Providing manual handling support to ensure the safety and comfort of Participants.
• Offering hoist/transfer support as needed.
• Administering complex bowel care with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Managing seizures effectively, following established protocols.
• Building meaningful relationships with residents and visitors.
• Collaborating with colleagues and enjoying a positive work environment.
• Demonstrating exceptional time management skills and attention to detail.
• Maintaining accurate health care documentation as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, we require the following qualifications and skills:

• NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Working With Children / Blue Card (Preferred).
• Certificate 3 or Paid Experience in Disability Support.
• Updated Police Check.
• First Aid & CPR Certificate.
• Driver's license, reliable transport, and Comprehensive Insurance.
• Valid Rights to work in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate, etc.).
• Desirable: Manual Handling and Hoist Training.
