BDMS Community Services requires Casual Disability Support worker (DSW)
The prospective applicant should have
- Cert 3 in Disability/Individual Support or at least 2 years of experience in the relevant field.
- Meet the requirements of the NDIS worker Screening Check
- Have a Full Australian Driving License
Prior experience in working with mentally disabled people with high Behavior of Concern or indigenous people is desirable.
Job description:
The duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Support clients to meet the individual goals in their chosen program and their NDIS Plan.
- Provide support to customers who require assistance with tasks of daily living, personal care, domestic assistance, and medication administration.
- Contributing to developing, following, and implementing programs that support customers in developing skills associated with daily living and increasing their capacity to be a part of the community.
- Respect the privacy and confidentiality of customers following privacy legislation and BDMS Community Service’s Policies and Procedures, during and beyond the period of employment.
- Complete all required paperwork, documentation, and recording as per BDMS Community Service’s Policy and Procedure which includes monitoring and documenting activities and goals as part of their NDIS Plan.
- Maintain positive working relationships with key external disability and other service providers.
- Excellent communication skills.
Applicant needs to be flexible and may be required to work outside normal hours.
