About us
In 2010, the Australian Government launched The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) that would enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and their carers. Outwest Care saw the opportunity to provide a service to it's customers to enjoy the Australian outdoors. After being in the disability sector for a number of years, the founding director of Outwest Care realised a need for additional services. We wanted to provide our customers with a high level of care, to provide support to assist people to engage in activities of their choice and visit places of interest. We have a beautiful respite facility located in the Hawkesbury which allows for some down time, where individuals can refresh and reboot. Outwest Care have a wonderful hub located in Windsor for customers to join activity days, build on their individual living skills and create positive friendships within their local community. At Outwest Care we offer a wide range of services which can be tailored to meet the clients needs. At Outwest Care we take a person-centred approach which means our services will always be tailored around the clients needs and choices.
We are recruiting for employees for an immediate start in the following areas of support;
- 1:1 Community supports
- Group based community supports
- In home personal care and domestic care supports
- Respite/group home - morning, afternoon, active awake hours
- Day program (located in Windsor).
Qualifications & experience
- Minimum Certificate IV in Disability
- Working With Children Check.
- Current driver’s licence.
- COVID-19 Double Vaccination Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate and CPR.
- Own vehicle and fully comprehensive insurance. (KMS will be reimbursed for Client travel).
- Experience with challenging behaviours.
- Preferable but not mandatory - Experience with Dementia Care and or Mental Health.
- Flexible, hard working and positive attitude.
- Good natured and caring qualities.
- If successful, you will need to complete a police check.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 or group based support to meet Client needs and or goals.
- Provide personal care tasks, including but not limited to, assistance with showering, toileting and meal times.
- Assistance with meal preparation and mealtime management plans.
- Provide support with domestic duties.
- Medication administration.
- Assistance to access the community.
- Skill Building.
- Increasing Client independence.
- Support Clients to reach their goals and achieve their individual outcomes.
