Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and empathetic Casual Disability Support Worker with a strong Christian faith to join our team. In this role, you will not only provide direct support to individuals with disabilities but also serve as a mentor and role model. Your guidance and encouragement will play a crucial role in helping individuals develop life skills, build confidence, and achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in daily activities and fostering independence.
- Serve as a mentor and advocate, empowering individuals to develop life skills, pursue their interests, and overcome challenges.
- Create and implement mentoring programs and activities tailored to the unique needs and interests of each individual.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals feel valued, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
- Collaborate with other members of the support team to ensure holistic care and support for each individual.
Requirements:
- Hold a current Australian Driver Licence and be willing to transport clients when required.
- Hold a current First Aid & CPR certificate or be willing to obtain.
- Hold a current First Aid Mental Health Certificate or be willing to obtain.
- Hold a current Blue Card or be willing to obtain
- NDIS Orientation Modules
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients and staff.
- Previous experience in Disability Support or a related field is highly desired but not required.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a compassionate approach to care.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills, with the ability to inspire and empower others.
