The Opportunity:
ConnectGV is seeking permanent part-time Disability Support Workers who are able to provide supports to participants in our Residential Services. Successful applicants will be required to work weekdays, sleepovers and weekends.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide person-centred support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in their daily living activities, personal care, and community participation.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that promotes independence, dignity, and respect for each individual.
- Collaborate with clients, their families, and other support professionals to develop and implement personalised care plans.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Document and maintain accurate records of client progress, achievements, and any incidents in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Continuously update your skills and knowledge through training and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to making a positive difference in their lives.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships.
- Empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature to provide the best possible care and support.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and situations.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Individual Support, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid driver's license.
- Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
- COVID-19 vaccination compliance.
- NDIS ‘New Worker Orientation’ module (prior to appointment).
