St Anthony’s Family Care delivers a range of services to nurture and support children and young adults of all abilities.
We are actively recruiting for several permanent part-time positions to join our growing Disability Services team.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will support children and young adults with disabilities to develop new skills, explore hobbies and be meaningful members of the community.
Position Details
- Job Title: Permanent Part Time Disability Support Worker
- 5 days per week, Monday to Friday
- Hours: 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm
- Minimum 30 hours per fortnight with hours up to 76 per fortnight possible
Additional Opportunities
In addition to the minimum commitment, there are opportunities for additional shifts such as:
- Short-Term Accommodation (STAs)
- Individual shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Group activity shifts
- Outside of school terms shifts (Holiday Programs)
This flexibility allows you to increase your hours up to a maximum of 76 hours per fortnight. As a permanent employee, you will be given priority when it comes to shift allocations, providing you with a more consistent and predictable work schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Disability Support Workers are responsible for providing care and support to service users with a diverse range of needs which may include complex behaviours.
- Daily Duties involve providing personal care, administering medication, meal preparation, housekeeping and participating in a range of activities both in the center and the community.
- Assist and encourage the positive development of skills and abilities in all areas of the participant’s life including assisting participants in achieving their goals and reach desired outcomes.
- Support an understanding of the Disability Support Act, the NDIS Safeguarding Commission Framework, and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
- Complete all documentation in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Requirements
- Driver’s License
- Full comprehensive car insurance
- Experience within the Disability Services Industry
- As part of the application process, you will be required to complete pre-employment checks which may include, but is not limited to reference checks, work rights, criminal history check, NDIS/WWCC checks.
- You will be required to provide evidence of immunisation as required for your role including COVID-19
