Dispatch and Product Preparation
Intercast & Forge is Australia’s largest Independent Iron Foundry and market leader in its industry sector, supplying Australian and global rail, automotive and general engineering industries from our Wingfield production facility.
About the Role:
You will be providing logistics support to ensure Intercast & Forge products are prepared, packaged and dispatched in an efficient and effective way working as part of a small logistics team. The role is a 40-hour, 4 day week, Monday – Thursday 6am-4pm. Overtime on Friday’s may be required depending on work load.
You will be trained to use our internal Logistics program andother internal systems. The ideal candidate would be open to learning all facets of the Logistics Department and becoming the backup for the Logistics Manager when required.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Ensure a safe work environment and adhering to company WHS policies
- Ensuring compliance with COR regulations
- Highly experienced forklift operation in loading export containers and domestic freight
- Ensure finished product (castings) are dispatched according to customer requirements of quantity, quality, and delivery, achieving DIFOT of 100%.
- The inspection of export containers against manifests prior to closing off.
- Liaise with production to ensure product is processed on time to meet transport cut off times
Extended areas of responsibility based on skills and ability
- Experience with booking freight using online and manual systems
- Liaise with transport companies regarding outgoing and incoming goods.
- Liaise with sub-contractors and on-forwarders
- Accurate and timely documentation of all incoming goods.
- Liaise with specialist inspectors regarding export products.
- Purchasing of various packaging used for production
- Assist with maintaining Chep system
- Assist with Monthly stocktake
Skills & Experience:
- Forklift license and demonstrated experience
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Practical understanding of Chain of Responsibility
- Moderate competency in Microsoft word, excel, email essential
- Basic IT competency and exposure to logistics software
- Customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders.
- Formal logistics/warehousing qualifications preferred but not essential
- Small team leadership experience preferred but not essential
