General The Office of the Director General’s (ODG) purpose is to support the Director

General manage the Director General’s and Communities reputation by ensuring all information published, shared, and distributed on behalf of Communities, by the directorate is clear, consistent, accurate and done in a timely manner. The ODG is the central contact to Communities’ five Ministerial offices and provides strategic and operational support to the Director

General and a range of projects and initiatives across Communities. Communities is a nationally recognised Accredited Carer Friendly Employer through the Carers + Employers program. The program defines best practice standards by creating a carer friendly workplace, enabling staff to balance work and care, while continuing to contribute to the wellbeing of individuals, families and the community.

Executive Support The Executive Support team is responsible for leading all functions associated with providing support to the Director General, including executive support, management of stakeholder meetings, the Communities Leadership Team Secretariat function, Director

General Correspondence, all other aspects of Director General support, and executive support to the Executive Director. The team’s role is to support the Director

General in the delivery of his executive and statutory responsibilities by managing relationships and ensuring information provided to and by the Director General is clear, consistent, accurate and timely.   The team acts as a key liaison point in the coordination of input from Divisions, management of the Director

General’s schedule and his attendance at meetings and events, ensuring he is fully briefed in the execution of his functions and decision making.   The team also plays a key role in management and the coordination of the Director General’s and Communities Leadership Team’s engagement with staff and visits to regional and metropolitan offices.

The Opportunity As a Executive Manager, you will be responsible for: Providing strategic and Executive support to the Director Executive Support, Executive Director and Director General in managing the Department's Ministerial and Director

General correspondence and advice, Ensuring the quality and consistency of written correspondence and documentation, Project management and reporting, and Coordinating and managing across Divisional and external meetings, responses and relationships.
