Join JLT Public Sector and your working day will be as unique and diverse as the valued clients we support.Reporting to the Executive Manager, the Divisional Manager, Risk is a leadership position, responsible for managing scheme risk services with local and state government clients, as well as the management and mentoring of the Risk Management Team. - Manage the provision of effective risk management advice and assistance, both oral and written to Scheme Members, primarily on liability and professional indemnity risk issues;
- Develop systems to assist members manage specific risk management issues;
- Take responsibility for the strategic plan of the Risk Management Department;
- Manage and mentor the Risk Management Team;
- Target the training needs of Members and assist with seminars and workshops and present such training;
- Identify, develop and implement projects associated with risk management issues including property risk, climate change and/or legislative developments and proposals;
- Participate in the JLT Public Sector Management team.
- Knowledge of risk management philosophies and practices
- A tertiary qualification in Risk Management or a related discipline is preferred
- Understanding of law as it relates to civil liabilities etc.
- Ability to co-ordinate and participate in seminars and workshops for members, training skills and the ability to effectively manage meetings and groups.
- Experience leading a small to mid-size team
- Knowledge of liability and insurance
- Knowledge and application of Scheme structure and rules
- Knowledge of the Local Government Act and other relevant Acts.
