Inland Rail
Inland Rail is a once-in-a-generation project that will complete the backbone of Australia's freight rail network. It will enhance supply chains by providing a transit time of 24 hours or less for freight trains between Melbourne and Brisbane.
Inland Rail will connect regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland to markets more efficiently, drive substantial cost savings for producers and consumers, and deliver significant economic benefits. Inland Rail is the largest freight rail infrastructure project in Australia and one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the world.
About the opportunity
As a Document Controller at Inland Rail, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of project documentation, maintaining accurate records, and supporting project teams in managing essential information. You will collaborate closely with various internal and external stakeholders to manage documents efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure compliance with ARTC's Drawing Management System (DMS) requirements, responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities.
- Work closely with the stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of records and communication.
- Provide SME guidance and training to project stakeholders on all document control and document control system matters.
- Implement document control procedures and ensure compliance with project and ARTC information management requirements.
- Manage all document control activities on assigned project including receipt, quality checking, facilitating reviews and returns of document deliverables using Aconex.
- Maintain integrity of the Program electronic document management systems to ensure that records are up to date, reliable, and easily accessed as needed.
- Conduct quality & compliance checks on documents submitted by IR team and external contractors which includes document number, revisions, status, title, and other metadata requirements.
- Liaise with the Contractor Document Controller to ensure consistency of information and provide guidance where required, to ensure compliance with Program requirements.
About You
The successful candidate will be organised, detailed oriented, a problem solver and takes pride in their work. You will need to be someone who thrives in a high performing dynamic work environment and have the ability to think outside the box.
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience as a Document Controller in a large-scale infrastructure project.
- Proficiency in document management software (EG, Aconex, SharePoint) and MS Office Suite.
- Self-directed and highly motivated.
- A working knowledge of Document Control best practice and data quality assurance principles.
- Proven experience of working with electronic records management and information systems in a project environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contribute to the culture of teamwork and take on responsibility for achieving results.
- Proven experience in working in a fast paced and dynamic environment with multiple conflicting deadlines.
- A strong attention to detail in all aspects of document and records control.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively and collaboratively, to facilitate and achieve desired outcomes and to establish and maintain strong, productive working relationships.
