About the opportunity

The Victorian Government is upgrading the Eastern Freeway with new express lanes, new traffic management technology and Melbourne’s first dedicated busway. These changes will slash travel times and improve public transport in Melbourne’s east.

Laing O’Rourke is part of the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance with Major Road Projects Victoria, Symal, Arcadis and WSP. Our scope of work includes a new interchange connecting the Eastern Freeway to the North East Link tunnels, major road and bridge upgrades between Burke Road and Tram Road, smart traffic management technology upgrades and new noise protection to meet Victoria’s toughest traffic noise standards. The local community will also benefit from new and upgraded walking and cycling connections, upgrades to Koonung Creek Reserve and revitalised wetlands and open spaces.

About the role

We are currently seeking a Document Controller to join us on the Eastern Freeway Bourke to Tram Alliance. We have a strong pipeline with many opportunities for career progression right here in Victoria.

Key responsibilities

  • Work within InEight Document (TeamBinder) to support all related Doc Control activities on the project
  • Check, register and manage document uploads, submissions and comments between  multiple stakeholders
  • Work closely with wider team members, stakeholders and client regarding submission requirements and other document control protocols
  • Ensure metadata standardisation across the project by maintaining and auditing registers.
  • Ensure all Document Control related processes are adhered to and appropriately documented and communicated.
  • Acting as first point of contact regarding supporting, troubleshooting and resolving queries relating to all document control processes and systems.

About you

  • At least 5 years’ experience in Engineering / Construction Document Control on large scale projects, with exposure to high volumes of information 
  • A comprehensive understanding of Document Control principles and processes.
  • A detailed understanding of document management systems.
  • InEight Document (TeamBinder) experience is highly desirable.
  • A good communicator, team player and problem solving capabilities.
  • A high-level understanding of Microsoft Office suite focusing on MS Excel
