Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

About the opportunityDue to an internal promotion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Document Controller to contribute to effective document management and driving system improvements. This role designed to support the delivery of Work Package C (SRL East/Tunnels South) for the Suburban Rail Loop project. You will work alongside three other Document Controllers in the Information Management team, each dedicated to a specific Work Package.
Reporting to the Document Control Lead, you will play a pivotal role in:
- Working closely with project teams to fully understand business needs with the aim of ensuring the best possible information management frameworks are effectively utilised
- Implementing and maintaining efficient and effective records and document management systems and associated procedures that meet corporate and best practice requirements
- Managing incoming controlled documents issued by our project partners via an internal web-based document-controlled solution
- Completing quality assurance checks and overseeing the release of documents and formal review of documents to capture quality assurance issues
- Promoting the use of correct document and information management processes and procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Providing guidance and training to staff on document and information management matters
- Managing and maintaining the internal electronic records and document management databases, repositories and filing systems, checking compliance with structures and naming conventions on a regular basis
This is an ongoing, full-time role. You will work in a hybrid work model with access to a range of flexible working arrangements.

About you- Experience in the operation and maintenance of document and information management systems and databases
- Experience with document control practices and protocols for engineering documents
- Experience using electronic document management systems within the Office365 environment
- Experience with web-based collaboration systems (e.g. ProjectWise and TeamBinder)
- Outstanding project management skills
- Ability to prioritise own tasks, work with minimum guidance and meet deadlines while keeping supervisor informed of task progression and competition, and proactively seeking assistance when required
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with managers and senior leaders and explain concepts and procedures
