About the Role:

The primary role of the Domestic Student Recruitment Advisor is to provide administrative and recruitment support to Domestic Recruitment (School leavers and Non-School Leavers) staff with respect to the conversion of prospective students into the University of Canberra Sydney Hills under the ECA Group. 

The position will undertake duties to engage assigned recruitment activities and relationship management with career advisors, local schools and institutions, University stakeholders and other related institutions to maximise numbers for the University of Canberra Sydney Hills. The role requires high level thinking. Under the supervision of the Head of International Student Recruitment, the role requires building and maintaining high standard client relationships and student experience through collaborative events. 

The role will be to conduct conversion activities towards prospective domestic and onshore international students through engagements by email, phone, social media, and events. Manage the inquiries received during recruitment events and undertake sets of activities and approaches to maximize conversion into enrolments to achieve international business goals. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engagement of prospective students through correspondence via phone, email, social media, in person and video chat to drive conversion. 
  • Engagement of designated local stakeholders through recruitment events and provide feedback to the recruitment staff.
  • Assist the Recruitment Team to prepare and send approved correspondences to prospective Domestic Students/Advisors. 
  • Ensure all the prospective international and Domestic leads are maintained on the UC and ECA System and ensure high conversion rates to enrolments.
  • Provide high levels of client service to all University clients and stakeholders in line with the UC and ECA Values.
  • Be an effective communicator in verbal and written communication, and across all types of media. Ensure all communications effectively represent the ECA Group as well as UC Sydney Hills and key messages and directly influence the reputation and positioning of the brand and ultimately the recruitment of students.
  • Liaise and maintain good relations with ECA Group’s external and internal stakeholders. Actively contribute to a team environment that fosters and develops effective working relationships, working collaboratively with the ECA and UC Sydney Hills Student Acquisition teams, showing consideration for colleagues, and valuing the contribution of others.
  • Interstate travel might be required, as well as a willingness to work flexible hours to fulfil the various duties of this position.
  • Create reports on domestic recruitment strategies.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

It is highly desirable if you have prior exposure and relevant experience working as an in-country representative, and/or demonstrated knowledge of the ELICOS, VET and higher education sector in Australia and Student Recruitment landscape, particularly of Colombia and desirable for Mexico and Brazil.

  • Educated to a degree level, or equivalent relevant experience and training.
  • Recruitment or Marketing Experience; preferably in education sector
  • Familiarity with Domestic Student recruitment considering the School Leavers Non-School Leavers scenarios. 
  • Familiarity with the processes applications for admission to undergraduate courses through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
  • High-level computer literacy including knowledge of Microsoft suit specifically the spreadsheet packages, experience with database systems and online communications. 
  • Possess initiative and the ability to work with minimum supervision. 
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to handle more than the one priority at a time. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing the activities of self and/or others including coaching. 
  • Proven effective communication and interpersonal skills, especially in the areas of sales. 
  • Effective engagement among internal and external stakeholders 
  • Take personal accountability to comply with all University/Colleges policies, procedures and legislative or regulatory obligations; including but not limited to TEQSA and the Higher Education Threshold Standards.
