Experience in defence & commercial shipbuilding is ideal however experience across marine, mining, Oil & Gas, Aeronautical, Aerospace etc is desirable

Our client is a leader in providing services to the maritime, military and resource sectors that delivers value for our customers (Commercial and Defence) through their innovative people, organisational agility and operational excellence. Due to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join their professional high performing team which is based in Perth WA.
Reporting to the Drafting Lead, you will be responsible for the development of 2D and 3D output and deliverables to support ship design and build projects, maintenance of technical documentation systems, design data management and support to production in build-phase.
Experience in Ship Building and/or systems, Marine, Oil and Gas, or similar would be ideal although industry background is not essential.
Duties include but not limited to:
- 2D and 3D drawing to support design development and tendering efforts
- 2D and 3D drawing to support production deliverables
- Proactively promoting quality, environmental responsibility & safety within the workplace, encouraging an outcome of being a place of work by choice.
- Actively participating in the continued growth of the business.
- Experience in Shipbuilding or an interest in boating or mechanical would be ideal but not necessary
- 3 – 10+ years’ experience in a similar industry is ideal
- Knowledge of marine engineering and design principles, systems, techniques, and industry standards is desirable
- Efficient technical drawing and drafting skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel is ideal
- Excellent ability in CAD Programs – AutoCAD 3D, AutoCAD Plant
- Superior knowledge of ShipConstructor is ideal
- Knowledge of Navisworks is desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills to define, investigate and draw effective conclusions
- Ability to prioritize work deadlines in an ever changing setting
- Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
