Due to recent expansion, this newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for a Driver Trainer to join a progressive transport company.
Reporting to the GM Safety and working along with the broader Operations Team, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and training on new and existing employees (including labour hire) to ensure employees are competent and are provided with the further training they require to build and maintain their driving skills.
The role will involve frequent travel to our Victorian sites as well as possible occasional interstate travel.
Position location can be based at Altona or Geelong.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess the knowledge, competence and skills of new and existing drivers.
- Provide effective training and coaching as required
- Work closely with key stakeholders to coordinate and schedule assessments and training.
- Actively participate in process improvements and support implementation of new process
- Record individual driver progress and provide trainer feedback
- Uploading training records into the Transport Management System (F2020)
To succeed in this role, you will need to have:
- Possess a current HC drivers’ licence and extensive driving experience
- Have previous experience in training and assessing truck drivers
- Have a strong understanding of Workplace Health and Safety legislation
- Have a strong understanding of fatigue management.
- Have exceptional interpersonal skills
- Have excellent time management and organisational skills
