The purpose of this position is to effectively train and monitor new and existing company drivers and tow operators completing transport related activities within the national operation. This role includes on and off-site risk assessing, site inspections and the development of the appropriate procedures of all loading and unloading tasks completed by drivers and personnel nationally.
Reporting to the National Operations Manager and OHSQE Manager, key responsibilities will include:
- Provide driver training to all drivers across the business annually or as required.
- Manage on and off-site risk assessments, site inspections including the reporting and creation of all required documents in line with company and customer policy and procedures.
- Assume an OHSQE leadership role at all times, identify near miss incidents to assist in injury prevention.
- Participate in all accident and incident and NCR reporting including the completion of all relevant forms and registers.
- Participate and work effectively with the OHSQE department and participate in education, training in Safety, Quality and Environment management system, promoting and leading "zero harm" as the core value of the business at all times.
- Identify new and/or deliver other training programs as required including the documentation of all necessary paperwork for each training session.
- Monitor company and subcontractor hours of work (fatigue management) to ensure safe operation, regulatory compliance and minimum guarantees are met.
- Actively participate in the identification and elimination of hazards in the workplace through near miss reporting.
- Fatigue audits to be completed on all drivers and paperwork including driver run sheets, in-cab electronic mobility system and work dairy pages. Provide driver training on non-conformances and escalate as required.
- Relief driver as required. Expectation 5-10 days per month.
- Cooperate with regulators and internal and external auditors and ensure compliance and audit obligations are met. Participate in all PACIA, Lloyds and regulatory requirements including audits of the facility and equipment as required.
- Participate in toolbox meetings as directed by the National Operations Manager or OHSQE Manager.
This position will suit a results driven candidate who can communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders. Resilience and tenacity with a team focus. The following skills and experience would be ideal:
- Certificate 4 or Diploma in Training and Assessment.
- Current MC Licence.
- Current DG Licence and a knowledge of dangerous goods preferred.
- Fatigue management training.
- Computer literate including Microsoft suite.
- The ability to travel intra and interstate is required.
