We are seeking two passionate, Full-time Duty Managers, for our Gungahlin Lakes Golf and Community Club venue. We are looking for someone with proven staff management experience in a fast paced customer service environment. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be required to manage the day-to-day operations of the venue.

WHAT'S THE POSITION?
Duty Managers are representatives of Management and are responsible for the daily operations of the venue through the provisions of high service standards and supervision of staff. The Duty Manager is expected to be highly visible within all service areas of the club, leading the team by example and ensuring close and direct contact with members and guests whilst maintaining a consistently high standard of customer service in all departments.
We are already a well-reputed successful business in Canberra, but we want you to help us stand out from the crowd and ensure we become the best there is within the hospitality industry in Canberra.
Here's the technical side:
- Supervise and direct staff in operational areas, ensuring a high standard of service to customers
- Provide a high level of customer service and manage any customer grievances or disputes
- Verify all cash floats balance at the opening and close of business
- Ensure all poker machine service, ticket out refills, and payout requests are attended to promptly with associated documentation according to club policy and legal requirements
- Assist in poker machine clearances and with associated documentation according to club policy and legal requirements
- Report any complaints, accidents, or incidents to Senior Management
- Report any poker machine faults, cleaning, repairs and maintenance or Work Health and Safety and Fire & Emergency procedures
- Adhere to Work Health & Safety and Fire & Emergency procedures
- Inspect all areas of the club (including toilets) on a regular basis
- Check staff rosters daily and amend rosters as necessary
- Observe the overall conduct and appearance of staff
- Verify all staff day sheets
- Spot check floats, tills, and stock as directed
- Ensure arrangements regarding club entertainment/functions are completed and correct
- Ensure the security of the premises at all times
- Check the front-of-house displays and signage to ensure consistency in branding and adequate signage for all promotional events
- Ensure that labour percentage targets are consistently met
- Take care with personal presentation to maintain a consistently high level of professional appearance
- Other reasonable duties as directed
WHO ARE YOU?
- You have a minimum of 2+ years experience in a management role within the hospitality industry
- Diploma in Hospitality or working towards - advantageous
- RSA, RCG, and Gaming proficiency - advantageous
- A team player; who has the ability to lead and motivate a team to gain a high level of employee engagement, creating a positive culture
- You have the ability to communicate and present expressively and clearly
- A vibrant and energetic individual who has a focus on the needs of customers
- Someone with an advanced knowledge of food and beverage that knows how to provide a high standard of service
