We are thrilled to be opening The Orchard in Dubbo - a state-of-the-art emergency accommodation centre for women and their children escaping domestic violence.
We anow have an amazing opportunity to join our team as a Support Worker at the Orchard, with a development pathway to become a DV Case Worker.
Duties will include:
- Administration tasks such as collecting client information, updating the databases and filing;
- Be the first point of call for all domestic violence case management enquiries
- Answer general enquiries and provide accurate information regarding Housing Plus and its services
- Ensure that clients’ initial contact with the organisation is professional, effective and efficient
- Work closely with contractors, clients and case workers to ensure victims of domestic violence receive an immediate, safety focused response to improve their safety
- Assist with maintenance of the office and facility, ensuring supplies are stocked and communal areas are kept clean and tidy;
- Assist with donations
To be successful, you will ideally have some experience in the community services sector, and have completed or be undertaking studies in the area.
You will also need to be sensitive to the needs of clients from diverse backgrounds, with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, be highly organised with lots of energy. The ability to work independently is essential.
You will also need a current Driver’s Licence and ability to obtain a Police Check and Working with Children Check.

This is a full time (38 hours/week) contract to 30 June 2027.
The Support Worker is classified as a Level 3.1 under the SCHADS Award, which equates to $71,328 gross per annum. This will increase on an annual basis in line with the pay points in the Award.
