- Design, plan, implement, support and deliver education and / or vocational training programs, ranging from low level numeracy and literacy options, high school equivalent study, through to university study support, to meet the individual needs of prisoners.
- Coordinate, support and facilitate external providers to successfully deliver programs and services within the centre, ensure educational material required for delivery is accessible, valid, appropriate and aligned to the needs and goals of prisoners.
- Maintain positive professional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including external education and training providers and community groups, to support access and provision of contemporary educational programs and services for prisoners.
- Conduct comprehensive induction processes, including Language, Literacy & Numeracy assessments, using outcomes to provide educational guidance and support to meet individual prisoner needs, abilities and goals.
- Contribute to End-to-End Case Management proceses, including participation in multidisciplinary team planning, internal prisoner management processes, to support active engagement in pro-social centre activities, including rehabilitation, reintegration, employment and release planning.
- Provide accurate information and feedback to the Senior Education Delivery Officer to support successful delivery of educational programs, initiatives and services.
- Maintain contemporary and current knowledge of educational research and evidence, policies, practices and legislation as it relates to the provision of educational services within the correctional industry.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety policies, procedures, legislation and instructions, and ensure all QCS staff, contractors and visitors are not exposed to workplace hazards and / or risks.
