THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $114,788 per annum + 11% super + annual leave loading (depending on qualifications and experience).
Time Fraction: Full Time, 1.0 EFT.
Location: Bourke St and Moorabbin Campus
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Police Check. (if applicable)
Position Status: Ongoing appointment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
The Faculty/Department of Vocational Education and Training Nursing Programs provides a progressive, innovative, collaborative and supportive teaching environment with strong industry links. The department is currently seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Education Manager to effectively design vocational education and training courses, as well as managing staff and students.
You will coordinate, motivate and supervise a team of professional teaching and non-teaching staff in the delivery of professional educational services, participate in external industry activities which promote and enhance the reputation of the Institute and which provide key client management and support and ensure compliance with the requirements of the Holmesglen Management System, applicable legislation and relevant external authorities, including the Child Safety Standards.
ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in a management position
- 5 years of Industry experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of compliance requirements, and the development and maintenance of compliance documentation, for ASQA and agreed funding and regulatory authorities.
- Highly developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills including the ability to establish strong links with industry as well as the ability to negotiate effectively and work through issues constructively with staff, students and relevant stakeholders.
- Proven educational leadership and management skills, significant experience as a teacher or coordinator in one or more course areas of responsibility with knowledge of current issues and developments in the VET sector
- Team player, collaborator and problem solver.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing, must be a Registered Nurse
- Postgraduate qualifications in Adult Education or relevant field.
- An approved course of adult teacher training accredited at the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 6 or above
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - TAE40116 or TAE40122
