Moreland Community Child Care Centres (MCCCC) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation that offers quality early learning programs for children 6 weeks to 5 years, offering funded Kindergarten.
We believe that education, social interactions and community participation help create a lifelong love of learning and foster a sense of belonging and identity for children. We integrate awareness of environmental sustainability, embedding Aboriginal perspectives and languages into our education programs.
We have 3 sites and are open 7am – 6pm Monday-Friday.
- Dunstan Reserve – 72 children per day in an age-based room setting
- Mitchell Street - 35 children per day and is a multi-aged Centre
- Tinning Street - 35 children per day and is a multi-age Centre
About the position:
We are seeking a passionate, driven, and knowledgeable Educational Leader. Applicants should demonstrate a desire to lead, mentor and coach our team. Working in partnership with children, families, and educators with attention to learning for all.
The Educational Leader will support our 35 place Centre Mitchell Street for a permanent position, offering 4 or 5 days per week from Monday to Friday, with availability to work on a rotating roster from 7am - 6pm.
Mitchell Street is a small community-based service situated in Brunswick. We are 35 place service in an old, converted home creating a warm and homely environment for the children. We pride ourselves on our community engagement, connecting with country and learning about the environment around us and it's heritage. We have a strong passion for educating Children about Indigenous culture linking learning to our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Your Impact
As an Educational Leader with MCCCC, you will be a team player, collaborating with and mentoring all Educators, working collaboratively with the Centre Leader within your centre to observe, inform and continuously improve our educational programs on offer to children. You put safety first with everything that you do and ensure all learning experiences are inclusive and response to the needs of all children.
Experience & Responsibilities
- Experience in mentoring and coaching (previous experience as an Educational Leader desirable).
- High levels of knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (both theoretical and in practice).
- Experience in designing and leading the Early Years Planning Cycle.
- A strong understanding of the National Quality Framework.
- A strong understanding of regulation and compliance as aligned to the National Quality Standard.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to support and work collaboratively with our team.
- The ability to support and work collaboratively with our Pedagogical Leader and other Educational Leaders.
- The ability to lead community engagement.
- Ability to manage the QIP
Qualifications and certificates:
- An approved bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and current VIT registration.
- Current approved first aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma qualifications (or willingness to update).
- Current Working with Children Check.
