You’ll work alongside dedicated, knowledgeable, and supportive teammates. You'll be instrumental in deploying and maintaining procedures and tools in line with our Transport and EHS Management System. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including operations, project management, and human resources), ensuring risk assessments are undertaken and that appropriate measures to control risks are defined for the site, and much more.We’ll look to you for:
- Maintaining appropriate records and documentation of the site while monitoring compliance
- Implementing and delivering training plans and programs
- Monitoring, assisting, assessing, and developing the EHS key performance indicators on site
- Conducting induction programs for new EHS people at the site
- Ensuring that the Safety Management System is well maintained and in line with required standards
- Reviewing and testing the various emergency plans and delivery of Safety induction training
- Preventing accidents/incidents and if occurring writing thorough reports, recording the incident, ensuring this has been investigated and analysed
- Participating in the Alstom audits and accreditation programs
- Ensuring continuous improvement of the EHS practices and contributing to a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into everyday operations and decision-making processes
- Certificate IV or Diploma in health and safety
- Proven experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of risk management tools
- Railway, maintenance or heavy industrial project experience in field based EHS role, with sound knowledge of local legal requirements
- Sound knowledge and understanding of ISO14001, OHS/AS 18001, ISO45001
- Initiative, drive and resilience, with the ability to influence people at all levels within the operations
- Familiarity with participating in audits and accreditation programs within a safety-focused environment
- Experience in conducting thorough incident investigations and analyses
- Ability to conduct effective training and induction programs for new staff
