The Opportunity
We now have an exciting opportunity available for an Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls (EI&C) Designer to join us in our Infrastructure Engineering team in Brisbane or Melbourne on a 21 Month Max Term Contract.
Reporting to the BIM Team Leader - EI&C, you will play a key role in providing Electrical, Instrumentation and Controls design and drafting services to our Stakeholders. These services will either be on Major Projects, or our ‘Stay In Business’ (SIB) projects, as required.
The successful Designer will be responsible for taking the design from concept through to construction package, using data-driven design software and BIM processes to generate the project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Engineering Manager (PEM), Design Engineers and Design/Drafting team on design projects
- Collaborate with construction teams and provide modifications as and when necessary
- Collaborate with engineering staff and business Stakeholders with regard to completing design tasks to meet project milestones
- Develop a detailed understanding of all Stakeholders, their interests in the project and their expected levels of support
Your background
- Proven experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD 2D/3D) software
- Thorough understanding of the following Autodesk products: AutoCAD, Navisworks and Vault
- Thorough understanding of data-driven design tools such as Elecdes Instrument Manager and/or Aveva Electrical and Instrumentation
- Proven experience with database systems, (SQL skills a bonus)
- Sound to above-average I.T. competencies
- Ability to work independently to solve complex problems or collaborate with others to achieve timely resolutions.
- Your positive attitude and solid work-ethic will be consistent with your maturity and EIC design experience.
- Strong ability to understand the project scope and develop an achievable plan to ensure the target milestone date(s) for your deliverables is not missed
- Associate Degree or Associate Diploma in Electrical Engineering preferred.
About the Team
The Digital Engineering team works within the business to design new gas pipeline facilities and upgrade existing ones. The EI&C team, along with the Piping and Process teams, uses CAD/BIM/database software to design and document the projects they work on. The team is spread across our Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth offices.
